Job Description
The Test Automation Engineer plays a key role to ensuring that any device, application and/or change delivers an outstanding customer experience You design and develop the automated testing that underpins the integration and product verification testing of end-to-end solutions prior to deployment, ensuring that devices and applications meet defined requirements and are compatible with the network, without degrading the customer experience of the network.
Here's some of what you'll be doing day to day:
The Test Automation Engineer uses development and coding expertise to produce automated test cases and test suites across a wide range of technologies. You will engage with test engineers and design engineers, and will use your scripting and coding skills to automate existing testing procedures as well as developing and automating the testing of new capabilities in support of delivery of Networks, Monitoring and Control applications and Unified Communications capabilities.
To be successful in the role, you must:
  • Hold Australian citizenship and have current/or can hold a minimum NV1 clearance to be considered. This role will require you to gain/ hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
  • Melbourne or Canberra based position to support customer-facing requirements
  • Solid experience with manual and automation testing.
  • Experience in reviewing requirements, creating procedures, test plans/scripts, executing both automated and manual test scripts in complex integrated environment.
  • Apply, design and develop automated testing strategies and build automated testing frameworks.
  • Good understanding of agile and test practices, including various test phases.
  • Experience in the use of automated testing tools, such as: iTest, Ansible/AWX, Python, Selenium, Git, Visual Studio code
  • Experience in the use of automated Test Management tools, such as XRay and Jira/Confluence
  • Experience and working knowledge on scripting, such as Python and Bash
  • Experience in programming language and operating systems, such as:
  • Ansible including development of playbooks and modules.
  • Java
  • Linux/Windows
  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, Ansible Automation.
  • Working with high performing team, teamwork is essential.
  • Any experience with Spirent iTest test automation tool will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in API Automation using REST/SOAP and Postman, with prior API testing will be beneficial.
  • Experience in Cloud knowledge VMWare, dockers, containers would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience with overall DTCN solution and implementation is an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience with Melbourne Integration Lab or Defence Canberra Integration Lab is an advantage
